Working for Peace & Justice

St. Francis is proud to be working together with
"Interfaith Council of Peace & Justice" (ICPJ).

Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice (ICPJ) began in 1965 when a group of people from various churches and synagogues in Washtenaw County came together to form an interfaith coalition to work for peace and justice.  Today, ICPJ is composed of people and congregations of many faiths working on an array of issues.
MISSION STATEMENT: We are a non-profit educational/social action organization which brings together people of various faiths who believe that the world is one family.  We believe that love, commitment to future generations, wise stewardship of the environment and promotion of social, political, and economic justice, are religious responsibilities.
The work of ICPJ is done through five working groups: Disarmament Working Group, Hunger Committee, Middle East Task Force, Religious Coalition on Latin America, Racial & Economic Justice Task Force.  ICPJ organizes the CROP Hunger Walk every year.
There is no other organization in Washtenaw County exactly like ICPJ.  ICPJ is the only one to bring together Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and others to work, learn, and pray together on peace and justice issues at home and abroad.  Please support ICPJ in any way you can!  Join our efforts!  Pray for our work!  Contribute to keep our work going!
