The 2002 - 2004 St. Vincent de Paul Society chair-person was Chris Kempton.
The 2002 - 2004 Christian Service Committee chair-person was Marty Javornisky.
The 2001 - 2002 St. Vincent de Paul Society chair-person was Amy  McCall.

St. Vincent de Paul & Christian Service Committee - 
Chairperson Position Description:
   (Proposal by Scott Wright on Thursday, June 27, 2002.  Updated on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.)

The Chairperson of the Christian Service Committee is:
1. a witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our community.
2. learning and teaching about injustices in our local county (or state) and ways to address them.
3. calling together persons interested in serving & living Catholic faith.
4. facilitating Christian Service Committee meetings (about once a month).
5. preparing an agenda in consultation with committee members and the director of parish social ministry at St. Francis.
6. delegating the position of secretary, for recording meeting minutes, etc.
7.  leading the committee to turn in goals for each academic year to the Director of Social Ministry by October 1st. 

The Director of Parish Social Ministry at St. Francis will assist with: 
1. supporting and assisting the Committee Chairperson.
2. publicity in the parish weekly forum and Mass announcements.
3. reserving rooms for meetings and events.
4. major communications to the community and public.
5. communicating with the pastor about needs.
6. delegating the position of committee chairperson.

Term Limit: Two Years

The St. Vincent de Paul & Christian Service Committee is under the guidance of the director of the Parish Social Ministry Office, in conjunction with the St. Francis Parish Pastor.  The SVDP & Christian Service Committee establishes and nurtures ministries at St. Francis that provide direct service, such as: Car Donations, Soup Kitchen for the hungry, homeless shelters, the Giving Tree for Christmas, Perry Nursery School Party, Safe House Party, Food Drives for the hungry, support other ministries like "Holy Family Ministries".  These programs collaborate with organizations, here in Washtenaw County to address the needs of all people, both within and outside of the parish. 

The St. Vincent Service Committee meets about once each month 
(normally at 7PM on the first Thursday of each month.)
