There is a committee being formed to deal with the issue of emergency
response during mass, this will cover AED training and creating
and making people aware of a plan for emergency response. Although
there is currently a board in the ushers room for CPR certified individuals
to use to indicate where they will be sitting during Mass, it is severely
underutilized. I would appreciate if anyone interested in serving
on the committee, providing CPR/AED training, or receiving CPR/AED training
would contact me via phone or email.
Free Family Caregiving Program --- offered
at St Francis --- Currently, more than 22 million American families
are caring for a loved one in an unassisted living arrangement.
Caring for a family member or friend, whether it be sorting through financial
and insurance issues or assisting with basic care needs, can be overwhelming.
The American Red Cross has developed a modular “Family Caregiving Program”
consisting of 9 individual, hour- long programs each designed to enhance
particular caregiver skills. Through a grant from Pfizer Global Research
and Development, these programs and the associated training/ reference
materials are being offered free of charge to Washtenaw County Residents.
Over
the next few months, the entire series of classes will be offered at St
Francis of Assisi Parish. Individuals may choose to attend the entire
