Transportaiton to Mass (& other St. Francis events) is important for our otherwise isolated members.  I am looking for some help with developing our "transportation ministry".

Please look over this following proposed advertisement and give me some feed back as far as if you think it is helpful, or, if it need more information, etc.

NEEDED – TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR
A coordinator of transportation would keep an organized list of those persons who would like to give a ride, or, receive a ride to church.   By making phone calls the coordinator would connect those in need with those willing.

Transportation for Seniors (& others that are in need of a ride) to Mass and other events at St. Francis is currently arranged by placing an advertisement in the bulletin FORUM (like the one at the bottom of this column) and then when an interested volunteer calls to help, they are connected with the person in need.  And, the two of them work out their own schedule of rides.

Typically the people volunteering to help give a ride can only give a ride every other week, or, once a month.  So, the person(s) in need of transportation to a weekly event like Mass still needs more help with rides.  A follow-up call is sometimes helpful in keeping our members, who are other-wise housebound/isolated, active in our community.

only suggestion would be to provide some information about how often you get requests for rides or how many people we are currently serving in this way.  It might help anyone interested in the position to get an idea of how much time it will require.  Just a suggestion&the ad is fine as is.
